PageShot is a browser extension and web app for capturing, annotating, and sharing full-page screenshots. This page explains, in plain English, what data PageShot handles and what we do with it.
What data we collect
Screenshots stay on your device. When you capture a page, the image is saved to your browser's local storage on your computer. PageShot does not upload your screenshots to our servers unless you explicitly choose to use a cloud-save or share feature.
Page content. To capture a page, the extension reads the visible content of the active tab only when you click the capture button. It does not run in the background, and it does not read pages you have not asked it to capture.
If you sign in
PageShot offers an optional Google sign-in for syncing captures across devices. If you sign in:
- We receive your name, email, and Google account ID from Google.
- OAuth tokens are stored locally in your browser to keep you signed in.
- You can sign out at any time, which removes those tokens from your device.
Third-party services
PageShot uses a small number of trusted services to operate:
- Hosting & database — for the web app and optional cloud sync.
- Authentication — Google OAuth, only if you choose to sign in.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use third-party analytics that profile you across the web.
Data deletion
You can delete any locally stored screenshot directly from the extension at any time. If you have an account and want all server-side data associated with your account deleted, submit a request via our support page and we will remove it within 30 days.
Children
PageShot is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for signed-in users, notify you in-product.
